Ratings

95 points James Suckling

"The purity of fruit is impressive with sliced cherries, strawberries and hints of walnuts and chestnuts. Medium-bodied, this has a creamy, integrated tannin structure and a fine, fresh finish. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc."

93 Vinous

"Creamy and resonant on the palate, the 2024 Carillon is laced with dark cherry/plum fruit, new leather, spice, menthol, espresso and a kiss of French oak. There's terrific textural depth and resonance here. I especially like the way the 2024 explodes on the back end. This is beautifully done." –Antonio Galloni

93 Jeb Dunnuck

"Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2024 Le Carillon D'Angélus sports a slightly deeper ruby hue as well as a beautiful nose of black raspberries and cassis intermixed with spice wood, graphite, and spring flowers. It's polished, medium-bodied, has fine tannins, and shows the fresh, crisp, yet elegant style of this château and vintage."

92 points Decanter

"Aromatic intensity, some dried herbs, milk chocolate, soy, vanilla and blackcurrants with soft floral scents too. Smooth and round, this has tons of concentration and pure red and black fruit with super fine tannins laced with liquorice and mint. I love the harmony here, lovely presentation and sense of ease as well as being full of flavour and intensity while still being delicate and finessed. A great wine, assured and confident and really dispelling the difficulties of the vintage. Chalky and mineral with liquorice spice on the finish. Cool and easy. Crisp and clean. 3.65pH - complexity of flavour and held by acidity."
