From the Winery:
The 2017 Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc sourced from multiple vineyards that we farm. After 12 months of aging, we chose the best components from each individual vineyard lot, in order to create the perfect blend. The 2017 is sourced from mainly St. Helena and Coombsville Appellations and it was aged in 80% new french oak barrels for 20 months,
with an additional eight months in bottle prior to the release.
The 2017 Reserve is a full-bodied wine with a dark fruit profile and well-structured tannins. The nose is super expressive with notes of black currant, dark plum and crème de cassis. The wine opens up nicely and leaves you with strong but round tannins and great acidity.
On the palate, you’ll find hints of sweetness, dark cherry, blackberry and blueberry balanced out by notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. 2017 is a unique vintage for Napa Valley, showing ripe tannins, great acidity and freshness, the combination of which should create wines with a very long aging potential.
